Jake and his team met on the black court for a big game. The sun was hot, but Jake felt brave and ready to compete. He made a plan to score and help his team win.

At the start, the referee had a strong voice and rang the bell. The ball went up, and Jake did a quick jump. He got the ball and ran past a small pack of kids. A strong hand tried to block him, but Jake was fast and brave.

Jake had to make a choice. He could pass or take a shot. He saw Blake near the net. Blake had a wide stance and a strong grip. Jake passed the ball. Blake did not drop it. He did a quick catch and shot. The ball hit the backboard and went in with a bang!

“Nice shot!” said Jake. “That was a huge play!”

The next play was very hard. The other team had a tall kid named Flint. Flint had a huge reach and could catch the ball at the edge of the ring. He jumped and snatched it. He tried to score, but Jake went in for the block. The ball hit Jake’s hand and went off track.

Flint looked cross and grumbled as he jogged back.

Jake felt proud. His coach smiled and said, “You have made a big change. You have shown today that you are quick and brave.

At the end, Jake had one more chance. He dribbled, then made a fine fake. The last shot was his. He aimed, took a deep breath, and felt hopeful. He knew his team would celebrate if he scored.

He shot.

Swish! The ball went in.

The team jumped and cheered. Jake grinned. The game had been tough, but his team had played like champs. It was a complete win, and the crowd began to dance and cheer at the huge score.
